What UV-engraved K9 crystals are
K9 is a grade of optical crystal chosen because it can be engraved from the inside. A specialist UV laser focuses energy at precise points within the piece, without marking the surface or risking a crack. The portrait sits in the volume of the crystal, not printed on it.
That is what people mean by a 3D UV engraved pet memorial: you can turn the piece in the light and read the figure from more than one angle. The name “K9” is a crystal grade; the likeness to “canine” is coincidence, though it rather suits the work.
From photograph to crystal
You send the photograph that feels most like them. We review it, recreate the likeness as a model in 3D space, then engrave that model inside the crystal. The path is photograph to crystal, not a factory template.

fido.salon is a UK studio. We work to Europe/London hours, and we start with K9 crystals before other pieces follow. There is no rush in the asking.
Send photographs when you are ready. We evaluate them with no obligation, and you only go into production when you are comfortable. Nothing is made on the strength of the first message alone.
