How K9 UV engraving works
A K9 crystal is engraved from the inside with a UV laser. The process is careful rather than industrial: we look at your photographs, build a model in 3D, then place that likeness inside optical crystal. This page is for trust — what happens, and what we need from you — before you request an evaluation.
Inside the crystal, not on the surface
The laser focuses at points within the crystal. Those tiny marks form the portrait in three dimensions. The outer faces stay clear, so the piece reads as glass with a figure held in the middle.
That is a 3D UV engraved pet memorial in the literal sense: the image lives in the volume of the crystal. K9 is a special grade of pure optical crystal that makes this kind of targeted internal engraving possible.
The studio path
- You send photographs — at least one, several angles if you can, up to eight images.
- We evaluate them with no obligation and reply before anything is made.
- If you go ahead, we recreate the likeness in 3D and engrave the finished piece.
- The crystal is packed and sent with care.
Other pieces will follow; for now we start with UV-engraved K9 crystal. A personalised pet memorial crystal from this process is made from your pictures, not from a generic silhouette.
High-level photo tips
Clear light, a visible face, and a few angles help more than a large set of similar shots. A side view alongside a front view gives the model depth. We accept JPG, PNG, WebP, and iPhone HEIC or HEIF.

What we do not promise here
We do not quote lead times or prices on this page. Those belong in a conversation after we have seen the photographs. The evaluation is the place to begin, and it does not commit you to production.
